Adventure awaits! Join Parks and Rec staff as we take trips to new areas, learn new skills, and reach new heights. Whether we’re kayaking the Connecticut, splitting a bullseye, or searching for salamanders, we’re bound to have a blast.  Participants should dress appropriately, depending on the adventure of the day. A detailed schedule will be outlined before the club begins.A snack and all materials will be provided.

Join Parks & Rec for an afternoon of Lego Building! Each participant will be given their own bucket of LEGOS to build awesome creations! Each week will follow a themed build. Participants will be provided with the Legos, a snack and outdoor playtime.

Rock on with HPRD! We'll take a van to Lebanon's The Notch Climbing Gym for some thrilling ascents and bouldering. Roped CoursesCome enjoy our 100+ routes set on walls up to 45 ft high!We aim to provide a diverse selection of high quality routes that showcase the many different styles of climbing movement.From flowy, to powerful, to technical, to competition style routes, we’ve got something for everyone.BoulderingOur bouldering section is perhaps the most accessible area in our gym to new climbers! With walls up to 15 ft tall, and 85+ problems designed to challenge and delight from V0 to V10, you are sure to find something that will engage your mind and body.
 
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM    Create Comics Club - Comics Club Spring Session
Instructor: Wayne Carter Wayne has been teaching comics in the upper valley since 2022 and was recently an artist in residence for the National Park Service at Saint-Gaudens. Calling all young artists, storytellers, and superhero inventors! Afterschool Comics Club is a fun, creative space where kids bring their ideas to life through drawing, doodling, and storytelling. Each week, kids will learn how to:Create awesome characters (heroes, villains, and silly sidekicks!)Turn ideas into comic strips and mini-storiesAdd speech bubbles, sound effects, and action scenesExplore different cartooning styles and techniques No experience needed—just imagination! Whether your child loves to draw, tell stories, or make people laugh, this club is all about creativity, confidence, and having fun. At the end of the session, kids will have their own original comics to share and be proud of.Draw it. Write it. Share it. Be a comic creator!

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Hiking Series and Walking Program - Boston Lot
Maxfield Monday Walks: Each week, the group will enjoy a 60-minute walk at the Maxfield Sports Complex. This is a great way to get outside, exercise and socialize with others. Approximate mileage is 2-2.5miles. Meet at Pavilion B by 8:30am.Wednesday Hikes:Trip Leader: Hartford Parks & Recreation Staff Get outside and enjoy socializing and getting exercise the old-fashioned way on these moderately difficult hikes.  Experience the spring season in the woods.  Bring hiking shoes/boots and appropriate clothing as well as water and a snack.Hikes are moderately difficult and can be strenuous.
