Roller Skating at WABA - Open Skate - (All Saturdays 6/6, 6/13, 6/20) Learn To Roller Skate:Instructors: Jean Carlan and others who have decades of combined skating & instructing experience.Learn to roller skate or level up your current skills. Each 4-week series is for Absolute Beginners, Beginners and Intermediate levels skaters. Attendees will be divided into appropriate levels for instruction for the first half and then open skate for the second half. Attendees need to be at least 5 years old and have their own skates, helmet, wrist & knee pads. (Intermediate adult level skaters may choose to skate without protective equipment.) Foundational skills will be emphasized, including falling and getting up, proper body position and balance, stopping techniques, forward and backward skating, safety and etiquette with many drills and exercises. Intermediate skaters will have an independent workshop style with coaching available on transitions, heel & toe manuals, edge control, spinning, jam skating elements, etc. Besides having the desire and equipment to skate, attendees to these group lessons should have average physical fitness and be able to participate in a group of learners with a ratio near 10:1. Track & Field - Track & Field Boys and Girls of all skill levels are welcome to participate in the track and field program. This program gives participants the opportunity to train for and compete in the state track meet with other rec departments. Participants will learn the basics of running, jumping, throwing, and relays. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and be physically active. Join the team today!Hanover Track Practice Dates: 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/16. The State Track meet will be held on Saturday, July 18th in St. Johnsbury.More info about the meet - State Track Meet InfoAthletes ages: The athlete's age group is determined by his/her age as of December 31, 2026. Athletes aged 7-15 on December 31, 2026 are eligible to participate in the meet this year. Track & Field - Track & Field Boys and Girls of all skill levels are welcome to participate in the track and field program. This program gives participants the opportunity to train for and compete in the state track meet with other rec departments. Participants will learn the basics of running, jumping, throwing, and relays. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and be physically active. Join the team today!Hanover Track Practice Dates: 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/16. Track & Field - Track & Field Boys and Girls of all skill levels are welcome to participate in the track and field program. This program gives participants the opportunity to train for and compete in the state track meet with other rec departments. Participants will learn the basics of running, jumping, throwing, and relays. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and be physically active. Join the team today!Hanover Track Practice Dates: 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14, 7/16. The State Track meet will be held on Saturday, July 18th in St. Johnsbury.More info about the meet - State Track Meet InfoAthletes ages: The athlete's age group is determined by his/her age as of December 31, 2026. Athletes aged 7-15 on December 31, 2026 are eligible to participate in the meet this year. Explorers have trips Thursdays.Pathfinders will have an extra trip on Thursdays - locations to be determined - including, but not limited to:Rock Climbing at The Notch (Lebanon)Swimming at The White River (West Hartford)Bowling at Valley Bowl (Randolph)And much more!Camp Communication:A weekly communication email will be sent out the Friday prior to camp. The letter will contain important information about what activities will be occurring at camp each week along with any important camp communication. While your child is in our program, we encourage parent input and participation. To help us interact with your child, parents are encouraged to share events that may be affecting your child (parents being away, emotional upsets, etc.). Sibling Discounts:Receive $15 off your registration when signing up a sibling(s) for a week of camp.No coupons or codes. Simply register all your attending children at the same time for the same session and the savings are automatically applied.Camp Cancellations:If you decide to cancel a week of Camp Ventures, a written explanation must be emailed to recreation@hartford-vt.orgCamp Ventures cancellations will be assessed a $50 (non-refundable) fee per session. The $50.00 deposited fee may be transferred to another week of camp if changes are made before June 12th.To be eligible for a refund or credit except the deposit fee, cancellations must be made by June 12, 2026.No refunds or credits will be issued on cancellations made after June 12, 2026.Credit/Debit Card Convenience Fees: Applicable credit/debit card convenience fees are non-refundable. Refunds may take three to four weeks to process. No cash refunds.
