Youth BasketballRegistration Opens on October 1st. Grades 3rd-6th Registration Deadline – November 15, 2025 Grades K-2 Registration Deadline – December 31, 2025 Youth Basketball Program (Grades K–6) Open to all Hartford residents in Kindergarten through 6th grade!The Hartford Parks & Recreation Department’s Youth Basketball Program offers a fun, structured environment where kids can learn the game of basketball while developing teamwork and sportsmanship. Whether your child is new to the sport or looking to improve their skills, this program focuses on fundamentals, fair play, and fun! Program Breakdown: Grades K–2: A non-competitive, in-house program focused on skill development, fundamentals, confidence, phyiscal activity, and teamwork. Players are divided into small groups during practices to encourage hands-on learning and maximize participation. Grades 3–6:Athletes advance their game knowledge, strategy, and individual/team skills in a more competitive setting. Players will be assessed and placed on balanced teams to ensure fair and competitive play. Teams will practice and compete against other local towns, with approximately 10 games scheduled throughout the season.Tournament opportunities may also be available.Program Details:
Each player receives a team t-shirt
Players must provide their own mouth guard and indoor sneakers
Practices and games will be scheduled between:
Weeknights: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Schedule may vary depending on team numbers and gym availability)
