Discover leadership skills through improv! This course is an introduction to improvisational performance for children. We will explore improv comedy games, character exercises and team building to develop flexibility and confidence. Together with our troupe, each member will laugh and learn through structured play. With creative thinking and active listening, students will flex their imagination muscles to the fullest!Tatum Barnes is a member of Valley Improv, the premier improv comedy group in the Upper Valley.

Adventure awaits! Join Parks and Rec staff as we take trips to new areas, learn new skills, and reach new heights. Whether we’re kayaking the Connecticut, splitting a bullseye, or searching for salamanders, we’re bound to have a blast.  Participants should dress appropriately, depending on the adventure of the day. A detailed schedule will be outlined before the club begins.A snack and all materials will be provided.

In addition to being correlated to improved academic performance, chess is the perfect vehicle to teach critical thinking, support decision making, and build self-confidence. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics, or an expert looking for new strategies and tactics, Chess Club is the perfect low-stress environment to develop your skills. All materials will be provided, in addition to a snack, outdoor playtime, and the opportunity to enjoy some of your favorite recreational board games.

Instructor: Wayne Carter Wayne has been teaching comics in the upper valley since 2022 and was recently an artist in residence for the National Park Service at Saint-Gaudens. Wayne leads students through sessions of cartooning theory with a focus on narrative and illustration. Calling all teen writers, artists, and rebels with a cause! Join us for Teen Zine Scene, a creative workshop where you'll learn how to make your own DIY zine (mini magazine) from start to finish. Whether you're into poetry, comics, photography, or just have something to say - this is your space to express it. We'll cover layout, design, self-publishing basics, and how to share your zine with the world. No experience needed - just bring your ideas and your voice.
